  14. I just want to take this study break from finals to point out my love of the great Toni Basil. Most people on average probably don’t remember who I am referring to until I state that she was the person who sang that 80’s hit cheer song “Mickey.” But she was and is so much more than that. In truth she was pretty much the first “white girl” of hip hop. As one of the founders of the pop and lock style, Toni Basil is an historic dance figure and innovator. Not only has she been widely successful as a choreographer for film, television, and stage, but she also has been widely successful in acting and music, and directing as well. Toni Basil is an all around BA and I love her and basically aspire to be her. Thanks Toni for being the role model for white girl hip hop dancers and artist everywhere. Almost 70 and still got it.
